Early Life & Clipse

Born Terrence LeVarr Thornton on May 13, 1977, in the Bronx and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he formed the duo Clipse with his older brother, Gene "Malice" Thornton (now No Malice).

Working closely with producers The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), Clipse broke through with Lord Willin' (2002) and its hit "Grindin'," followed by the critically revered Hell Hath No Fury (2006) and Til the Casket Drops (2009).

Solo Career & GOOD Music

Pusha T signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music in 2010 and later became the label's president.

His solo debut My Name Is My Name (2013) and King Push – Darkest Before Dawn (2015) cemented his reputation, before the Kanye-produced Daytona (2018) — a tight, seven-track album — drew widespread acclaim as one of the best rap releases of its era.

Daytona, Drake & It's Almost Dry

Daytona's "Infrared" ignited a high-profile 2018 feud with Drake, to which Pusha responded with the scathing "The Story of Adidon."

In 2022 he released It's Almost Dry, produced by Pharrell and Kanye, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy nomination, reaffirming his standing as an elite lyricist.

Style, Reunion & Legacy

Celebrated for his dense, detail-rich drug-trade narratives and immaculate technique, Pusha T is a critics' favorite and a rapper's rapper.

In 2025 he reunited with his brother as Clipse for their first album together in over a decade, the Pharrell-produced Let God Sort Em Out, underscoring a legacy as one of hip-hop's most consistent and respected voices.
